A beautiful Antique Victorian Tintype Union Case with photograph of a woman. It's made from early thermoset plastic, or Gutta Percha circa 1850s, and has the original glass, foil and green velvet lining inside. The piece is in good condition for its age. Horizontal crack along one lid and the closure functions.
Marked inside with the original paper from Scovill Mf’g Co. sized for a sixteenth plate size tintype. Case measures just over 2" long, and just under 2" wide. Spot for photo is 1 3/8" x 1 5/8".
